OCCUPATIONAL
THERAPY
K-TOWN Kids provides Occupational Therapy services to children and youth aged 3-18 to support participation, independence, and confidence in everyday activities.
School Readiness Groups:
Our Occupational Therapy groups provide children with opportunities to build skills, confidence,
and connection through engaging, play-based experiences in a supportive small-group setting.
Groups are designed around age and developmental stage and may include activities focused
on movement, fine motor development, emotional regulation, social participation, school
readiness, executive functioning, and everyday life skills.
Group programming offers many benefits for children, including opportunities to practice skills
with peers, develop confidence in social and group environments, learn through play and shared
experiences, and build strategies that support participation at home, school, and in the
community. Activities are thoughtfully planned and adapted by a registered Occupational
Therapist to support a wide range of strengths, interests, and learning styles.
To help ensure a positive and successful experience for all participants, children should be able
to participate in a small group setting with one adult facilitator and approximately three same-
age peers. Children who benefit from additional support for communication, engagement,
regulation, or participation are warmly welcome to attend with a caregiver who can provide
individualized support during sessions as needed. Our goal is to create an inclusive, supportive
environment where every child can participate meaningfully and feel successful.
Cost: $725 per child for 8 weeks - You will receive a receipt in which you can submit if you have
extended health coverage or other funding available for occupational therapy services (eg.
Ontario Autism Program funding).

Support to help children build strength, coordination, and control for everyday activities.
This may include improving hand skills for tasks like using tools and managing small
objects, as well as whole-body movement skills such as balance, coordination, and
confidence in physical play.
Support to help children coordinate what they see with how they move their hands and
body. These skills are important for tasks like drawing, writing, cutting, building, and
completing schoolwork. Therapy focuses on improving coordination and helping tasks
feel more manageable and successful.
Support to help children make sense of what they see and use that information
effectively. This can include skills like recognizing shapes and patterns, understanding
spatial relationships, and visually organizing information for tasks like puzzles, drawing,
and schoolwork.
Support to develop the foundational skills needed for writing, including hand strength,
coordination, and letter formation. Sessions focus on making writing more comfortable,
efficient, and meaningful for children at all stages.
Support and consultation for building independence in everyday routines such as
dressing, feeding, toileting, and hygiene. Therapy focuses on helping children
participate more confidently and successfully in daily activities at home and in the
community.
Support to help children feel prepared and confident as they enter or navigate school.
This may include developing strategies for attention, following routines, managing
transitions, and building the foundational skills needed for classroom participation.
Support to help children understand and manage their sensory needs and emotions.
Through play and practical strategies, children learn ways to stay regulated, cope with
challenges, and participate more comfortably in daily activities.
Funding options available other than private health insurance (if eligible) for
Occupational Therapy Services:
Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
Families who receive funding through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Core Clinical
Services budget can choose to use these funds for Occupational Therapy. K-TOWN
Kids is able to provide services that align with OAP funding guidelines and the
Occupational Therapist is a registered OAP provider. If a family is looking for equipment
purchasing through this program a specific in-home session with our occupational
therapist can be booked. A separate documentation fee may apply.
Jordan’s Principle
Jordan’s Principle supports First Nations children in accessing the health, social, and
educational services they need, without delays or out-of-pocket costs. Our team can
support families through the application process. Once approved, services can be billed
directly to the program, reducing financial barriers for families.
Child Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
The Child Disability Tax Credit provides financial support for families of children with
significant challenges in areas such as mobility, self-care, or daily functioning. An
Occupational Therapist can assist in completing the required forms and determining
whether your child may meet eligibility criteria.
Support Our Troops – Special Needs Grant
Military families who have children with special needs may be eligible for funding
through the Support Our Troops Special Needs Grant. This funding can help cover the
cost of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention. Our therapists are happy to
provide documentation to support your application. Families may apply annually.
